Details: Denomination: 1 Baiocco Date: 1751 (Year XI of Benedict XIV’s papacy) Mint: Rome Metal: Copper Obverse: Legend “UN BAIOCCO ROMANO”, date 1751 with decorative border. Reverse: Papal coat of arms of Pope Benedict XIV beneath the papal tiara and crossed keys, legend “BENED. XIV PON. MAX. A. XI”. Historical Note: The baiocco was a small copper denomination widely circulated in the Papal States throughout the 18th century, used in daily trade in Rome and surrounding regions. Pope Benedict XIV was known for his reforms in church administration, patronage of learning, and efforts to modernize the Papal States during his reign. Condition: Circulated with visible wear, attractive dark patina, and strong readable legends on both sides.
